Sometimes in order to remember it you have to write it down. Journals helps us remember. The good times and bad. Helps us recognize the ebbs and flows of life. You see where prayers are answered or where hormones influence emotions and rational thinking.

Teenage girls can find great benefit in re-reading entries over the course of a year and seeing how much their emotions can change from one day to the next. The trick to this is being honest in your entries. This is why it is important to recommend parents put a stop. to. their. snooping. Teenagers are people. They need privacy to sort out their thoughts without being afraid. They might even come to some good conclusions and stop some of the high risk behavior once they see it on paper. Keeping life bouncing around inside your head with no escape is not conducive to good problem solving skills or wise decisions.
