A Counselor at a Marriage Conference: Lesson 4

Jacksonville Marriage Counseling Encouragement #4This falls right in line with yesterday's post to cultivate contentment. The quote that floats around pinterest (supposedly) by Jim Carrey comes to mind. "I think everybody should get rich and famous and do everything they ever dreamed of so they can see that it's not the answer." I think there is something deep within me that thinks if I have a large influence and am financially successful, then I will have fulfilled my purpose. But I know that if my marriage falls apart or my children are wild animals I will not feel satisfied with my life despite my accomplishments or influence span. Money does not satisfy. We were not created to live alone with our wealth and influence. We were created to be in relationship. We were created to be in relationship with each other and with God. Just under the satisfaction and relief you feel when you ponder the grace and right standing you have with God... comes your marriage relationship (should you be in one)! It is the second most important thing in your life and the success of that relationship will bring the most satisfaction...  So, No... it's not money. It's not fame. It's not power. It is relationship. What can you do today to make it a success?
